It is anticipated that the Project will capture 40% of the goods intended for shipment to the upcountry.

Mr. Shah traveled to Bhit Island in a boat, where he addressed a reception, stating that he had a close relationship with fisherman. “My village is located near Manchhar Lake, which is home to hundreds of fisherman who live on boats and along the lake’s banks,” he explained, adding that he has direct knowledge of fishermen. He said that he was also looking into measures to purify the water in Manchhar Lake, contaminated by effluent and brackish water pouring from farms. The redevelopment plans for the Baba and Bhit Islands are in priority consideration.

“I have to rehabilitate the fisherman of Manchhar Lake, and I am eager to tackle the concerns of Karachi fishermen since they are Benazir Bhutto’s jialas,” he explained. Three floating jetties, passenger shelters, and an island-to-island bridge to be constructed

On Bhit and Baba islands and Mubarak village, the CM announced the construction of three floating jetties and passenger sheds. “We have given Rs250.561 million for this project, which the local government department will carry out.”

He asked Local Government Minister Nasir Shah to begin construction on the program immediately and complete it before the end of the year. Mr. Shah also announced the approval of Rs600 million worth of drainage, water supply, and brick road projects for the twin islands of Baba and Bhit and Shamspir and Sualehabad. In response to fishermen’s requests, the chief minister stated that he would explore installing a reverse osmosis facility on Bhit. The redevelopment plans for the Baba and Bhit Islands is in prority list now.

The fisherman informed the chief minister that their communities’ lease had ended and wanted a new lease. The chief minister then told the commissioner to complete the task; if the license had expired, he would issue a new one through the Board of Revenue.

The fisherman informed the chief minister that Benazir Bhutto had visited Bhit Island and announced a playground but was unable to do so since her administration was deposed shortly afterward. Mr. Shah stated at this point that his “great leader made the playground declaration” and that would keep her promise would be kept at all costs.

The schemes he announced included the construction of brick roads in six union councils of DMC Keamari, UC-41 to UC-46, for Rs99.35 million; the improvement of water supply and installation of sewerage lines and paver blocks in UC-40 and UC-42 of DMC Keamari for Rs140 million; and the construction of roads, drains work, and paver blocks in UC-41 Bhit, Baba, Shamspir, Younasabad, and Su.

The CM said that he intended to connect all of DMC Keamari’s islands to the main highways, allowing for car movement. “This bridge is in the planning stages, and Inshallah, the vision will become a reality,” he continued.

The chief minister inquired of the fishermen whether they had been vaccinated, to which the majority responded negatively. He stated that because they were still engaged in fishing, they could not be vaccinated.

The CM asked Karachi Commissioner Navid Shaikh to organize a vaccination unit on a boat and transport it across islands to vaccinate the eligible population. Previously, aboard the boat that the CM used to cruise to the island.

The chief minister announced Rs600 million in initiatives, as the local fisherman had requested. He paid a visit to an under-construction jetty following the reception and urged the project director to expedite its completion.

Rawalpindi Development Authority: Construct plazas on vacant property

RDA plans to build plazas on unoccupied property. In a decision announced on Tuesday, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) opted to build two commercial plazas on its unoccupied properties and then rent them out to earn cash.

In a meeting held to review the development of various the Rawalpindi Development Authority projects, it was determined to take this step. In a letter to the Estate Management Director,  the Rawalpindi Development Authority Director General Nadeem Ahmed Abro requested that a plan be finalized as soon as feasible to make use of the unoccupied site.

Director General Nadeem Ahmed Abro, Chairman of the RDA governing board, Tariq Mehmood Murtaza, and all other senior officials were present at the meeting.

Saima Younas, Director of Estate Management, provided a thorough overview of RDA’s unoccupied land, transfer cases in RDA-owned properties, and the verification and clearance of residential and commercial buildings, among other topics.

As part of the meeting’s agenda, RDA Chief Engineer Aamir Rasheed spoke about the RDA’s completed and ongoing projects, including the dualization of Dr. Qadeer Khan Road from Islamabad Highway to Falcon Complex Rawalpindi and the construction of three pedestrian bridges on Airport Road, which are currently under construction.

The RDA’s governing board chairman expressed his appreciation for completing the work on Dr. Qadeer Khan Road on a time-sensitive basis. He also emphasized the need to produce high-quality work promptly, and he insisted on completing ongoing projects on a short timeline.

The Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering Directorate have been urged to maintain its aggressive assault on unlawful and unauthorized structures and commercial activity without regard for political repercussions.

New regulatory framework will be governed for capital on cards

New regulatory framework for capital on cards. As per Ali Nawaz Awan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Capital Development Authority (CDA) Affairs, a new regulatory framework for the federal capital is being developed to consolidate various organizations, including the civic agency, Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), cooperative departments, Companies Acts, and others into a single entity.

He informed a news conference that the action was being taken to prevent urban flooding such as the one that occurred in Sector E-11 recently, which resulted in the deaths of a mother and her kid. A new regulatory framework is the need of time.

He stated that a summary of the new regulatory framework had been given to the federal cabinet and expressed the hope that it would be enacted into law as soon as it received significant approval. Furthermore, he insisted that plans were in the works to conduct a hydrological survey of the various sectors in question.

The flooding was caused by the nullah being narrowed to 18 feet from its natural domain of 40 feet instead of its natural realm of 40 feet. It has also been discovered that civil society has been sluggish to clear the nullah, even though this is their usual job.

As indicated by Awan, the nullah would be returned to its previous shape by removing all of the illegal structures built on its banks to reduce the likelihood of urban floods occurring in the future. He pledged that no matter how many encroachments were constructed on this nullah with illegal authorization and force, or how many were developed due to the CDA’s, cooperative society’s, or any other agency’s inaction, they would all be demolished.
