ECNEC approves Rs23.6bn Rawalpindi Ring Road Project

ECNEC approves Rs23.6bn Rawalpindi Ring Road Project. The Rawalpindi Ring Road project was approved by the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council on Wednesday, according to National Economic Council (ECNEC).

It was decided to proceed with the project’s construction in a meeting presided over by Shaukat Tarin, the Finance, Revenue, and Revenue Planning Advisor, and a budget of PKR 23.6 billion was announced for it. The Rawalpindi Ring Road Project has been approved by the ECNEC for a total of Rs23.6 billion.

On the same day, the committee approved a land acquisition plan of PKR 24.9 billion for the Lai Expressway and the Rawalpindi flood channel, with the proviso that no expenditures be made until the environmental impact assessment is finished and the PPP board grants its approval to the project.

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) will carry out the project, which will entail the purchase of 750 Kanals of land to clear the way for the construction of the two projects, which will be an important component of Rawalpindi’s transportation network as well as a flood control and sewage treatment facility.
