The Hafizabad-Gujrat Road will soon undergo construction

News sources said on November 23 that work on the 45-kilometer road connecting Gujrat with the districts of Hafizabad and Wazirabad would begin in the coming months.

The road will be an important part of building up the new Gujrat division’s infrastructure. According to the government’s tender, the project will cost PKR 8.2 billion. It will start at the University of Hafizabad campus, which is still being built, and go all the way to Khanki headworks, which is on the border of Gujrat district. From there, a 19-kilometer road is already being built to Machiana village, which is where the Gujrat divisional complex is supposed to be built.

In addition, the small road along the bank of the Lower Chenab Canal (LCC) will be carpeted and widened up to 44 feet. This will make it easier to get to the divisional headquarters from Hafizabad district and the newly created Alipur Chattha tehsil of Wazirabad district.

It’s important to know that the Punjab government just approved making Gujrat its own 10th division, with Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, and Hafiz Abad as its districts.

The official also said that the housing ministry will give stalls to housing projects and companies that have No Objection Certificates (NoCs) from the relevant authorities and approvals from the government and taxpayers.

At the 29th meeting of the Planning and Development Board, the following projects were given the green light:

  • The Punjab Police Integrated Command, Control, and Communication (PPIC3) Center in Rawalpindi has been given PKR 24.646 billion (Revised)
  • Umbrella PC-I/Cost Estimate for Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of 87 No. Roads in Rajanpur, 97 No. Roads in Taunsa, and 30 No. Roads in D.G. Khan has been given PKR 16.53 billion.
    For the care of Sori Lund Hill Torrent, PKR 5.969 billion has been set aside (Jamallar & Talli Branch)
  • The Vidor Hill Torrent will be taken care of with PKR 4.815 billion (Suchani & Phullar Branch)
    Building of Women’s University, Sialkot on an Acquired Piece of Land at Sialkot has been given PKR 2.88 billion to build.

On the Motorway, PKR 1.566 billion has been set aside to build a 3-kilometer-long metal road from Sheikhupura Interchange (M-2) to QAAP.
PKR 1.245 billion has been set aside for the protection of Link No. 1 in D.G. Khan through river training works.

The CDA said that the centre will be used for things like meetings, exhibits, and sports facilities like a gym. The centre will have club amenities as well as a museum about Gandhara culture.

The public will also be able to use the club’s different services, as long as they pay the club’s membership fees. The public will be able to use the following amenities:

gym with a membership fee of PKR 12,000 per month
Members pay PKR 5,000 per month to use the tennis courts.
Membership costs PKR 5,000 per month to use the swimming pool.

Customers will have to put down a PKR 50,000 security deposit, and the CDA hopes to make PKR 972 million a year from these services.

Rawalpindi: On November 18, news sources said that the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) had started an operation against illegal and unregistered housing schemes in its area.

Mohammad Saif Anwar Jappa, the head of the RDA, gave the order to start the operation. He said that all illegal groups that were cheating people should be shut down. Sources at the RDA say that the authority has done something about schemes that broke the Punjab Private Housing Scheme Rules 2021. With help from the local police stations, the RDA teams in Rawalpindi tore down the booking offices of three illegal private housing schemes on Thatha Gorakhpur Road and two illegal subdivisions on Tarahia Gorakhpur Road.

The government also filed the first information reports (FIRs) against all of the housing schemes’ owners. It is important to know that the Lahore High Court (LHC) has told all housing development schemes in Punjab to launch operations against all illegal housing schemes and make sure every scheme has a QR code.

Rawalpindi: The governing body of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has decided to review the criteria for the No Objection Certificate (NOC) for all housing schemes in its area. This was reported by news sources on November 21.

The RDA will make a technical committee that will decide if the housing plans approved by the Rawalpindi Metropolitan Corporation (RMC) and District Council meet the criteria set by the Punjab government. The technical committee will check all housing societies to see if they meet the requirements set by the Punjab government. The technical committee will also make terms of reference (ToR) for these housing schemes so that RDA can give out no-objection certificates. In addition to this, the governing body also approved the following rules:

Approval of the preliminary study for classification, reclassification, and redevelopment of the RDA-approved housing scheme Mohanpura according to the rules in the Punjab Development Authority Land Use Rules 2021.
Setting up a quick study with the help of a consultant and giving the governing body the consultant’s suggestions within one month. It will help make sure that people who illegally change the use of property follow the law.
The RDA’s governing board also approved the RDA’s plan to carry out the presidential secretariat’s order to put the National Highway Authority’s right-of-way procedures into action.
