Private landowners will benefit from a free orchard project

Private landowners will benefit from a free orchard project. The Guzara forest division has initiated a program to establish free orchards on private properties in four Rawalpindi district’s mountainous tehsils.

The project is part of the Prime Minister’s Billion Tree Tsunami initiative.

Private landowners in Murree, Kotli Sattiyan, Kalar Syedan, and Kahuta have until November 5 to submit applications for tree planting on their properties as part of the afforestation initiative.

The plantation project, which will begin on February 15 and conclude on April 15, will be completely free.

Divisional Forest Officer Amir Imtiaz stated that they would plant indigenous fruit-bearing trees and olive trees in Potohar and Kohsar. He noted that the orchards would contribute to the protection of barren and undeveloped land, produce domestic revenue, and supply fresh fruit for consumption.

Additionally, the forest officer stated that experts would inspect the areas for which proprietors would submit applications, and the forest department would level the lands as necessary.
