The court directed Muhammad Ishaque Khuhro, Director General (DG) of the Lyari Development Authority (LDA), and the planning and design director of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) to submit a report on the clearance of encroachments along the road.

According to reports, after hearing Advocate Uzma’s plea, the SHC requested that the authorities expedite road construction and encroachment removal in order to preserve a smooth flow of traffic across the city.

The petitioner said that the presence of a truck stop along the route not only contributes to road wear and tear, but also to traffic bottlenecks and long queues of cars during rush hours.

Petition was filed with the court in 2019, but no official response was provided. Within one month, the SHC bench directed the officials to submit a full project report.
