The CM of KP opened billion-dollar projects to improve Swat. News reports say that Mehmood Khan, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), opened billion-dollar development projects in the hilly area of Sawat on Saturday (May 28). Among the projects are schools, mosques, and housing complexes for staff and putting solar panels on schools and mosques.

CM Mehmood officially started the following projects during his one-day tour:

PKR 2.8 billion Engineering University, Kalam Campus, Kalam’s Shahi Cricket Stadium
Putting schools and mosques in the sun.
High schools run by the government in Qandil and Gornai 7 RCC bridges

Staff Colony, which would cost PKR 4 billion, would be where people who worked on the Kalam-Gabral Hydropower Project would live. He announced a PKR 1 billion project for Kalam and PKR 36 billion for a power plant, on top of the projects already underway. Mehmood said that the government would put more money into developing tourism in the area, which is important for creating jobs in the area. He said that the administration would talk to the people in the area before starting any new projects.

Authorities want to hasten the development of housing projects in KP

Authorities want to hasten the development of housing projects in KP. During a review meeting on June 8, Provincial Housing Minister Dr. Amjad Ali told the people in charge to speed up work on housing projects that are still being built in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

During the meeting, the attendees learned about the progress of several residential projects, such as Surezai Residencies, Rehman Baba Complex, Hungu Township, Jarma Housing Scheme Kohat, Peri Urban Housing Scheme, Media Colony Dangram, High Rise Flats-Hayatabad, Jalozai Housing Project, Havalian Township, Civil Quarters Flat, and Merged Districts Residential Colonies.

The meeting was also told that 68 percent of the work on the Jarma Housing Scheme was done and that the rest of the work would be done in six months. The High Rise Flats-Hayatabad will be finished by October 2022, it was said. During the meeting, the provincial minister of housing told the people in charge to speed up work on the Peri-Urban Housing Projects and finish the master plan for the Dangram Media Colony by June 15.
