The CDA will rehabilitate a Mughal-period inn

The CDA will restore an inn from the Mughal period.. News sources said that on Saturday, August 27, Captain (retired) Muhammad Usman Younas, the head of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), set up a committee to restore a Sarai (an inn) from the Mughal era that is 900 years old. The inn is in Sarai Kharbooza, which is in a rural part of the federal capital. It is close to the Grand Trunk (G T) Road.

It is said that the chairman went to the old heritage site and gave orders to fix it up. He said that the place will be a big draw for tourists and will show how great Muslim architecture used to be. He also told experts in the field to get together and form a committee to help with the restoration project. The CDA will restore an inn from the Mughal period.

It’s important to note that the Mughal Emperor Jahangir stayed at the Sarai (an inn) in 1605 when he travelled along the Grand Trunk (GT) Road.
