The tehsil municipal officer said that notices have been sent to the 100 people who have built shops and houses within 200 feet of the Kunhar River. He then said that the Peshawar High Court (PHC) had made it illegal to build anything along streams and rivers. In this case, the government has sent notices to the owners, asking them to tear down the businesses and homes.

The tehsil municipal officer also said that the ban was put in place because of the damage done by recent flash floods in the province. It was found out that the district administration in Balakot’s Hasamabad area destroyed the National Highway Authority’s (NHA) toll tax plaza.
