In July, CDA earns PKR 40 million in tax money

Islamabad: On August 11, news media stated that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) had received PKR 40 million in tax revenue during the month of July. The tax was collected through the approval of building plans, the granting of completion certificates, commercial fees, and fines for using the property in an unpermitted manner.

Sources claim that the CDA has published tax statistics for the first month of the fiscal year 2022–23 and after changes made to the land-related procedure. The following is a thorough breakdown of the revenue received by the various departments:

The building control directorate received PKR 2 million for awarding 20 completion certifications to residential constructions.

The granting of a completion certificate for a commercial building generated PKR 100,000 in revenue.

PKR 150,000 was earned through the endorsement of 10 building plans.

The granting of no-objection certificates (NOCs) for 38 commercial structures brought in PKR 35 million.

By giving 55 residential buildings NOCs, PKR 2 million was earned.

PKR 1.5 million was amassed by fining the owners of two buildings for breaking building regulations.
