LDA conducts anti-encroachment sweep across Lahore

LDA conducts anti-encroachment sweep across Lahore. News sources said on August 25 that the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has started a citywide campaign to stop people from building on government land. In Allama Iqbal Town, Multan Chungi, Faisal Town, and other places, the push was made against street vendors and illegal businesses.

Reports say that the LDA, working with law enforcement, took action against businesses that were stepping on public property and took down the walls around several business locations. The operation started near the Canal Berg Society orange line station on Multan Road, an illegally built structure near Multan Chungi, an illegal commercial building in Sabzazar H Block, commercial construction in Sabzazar C Block, a commercial building in Kareem Block, Iqbal Town, and a restaurant in Rachna Block, Iqbal Town. Teams shut down a clinic in College Block, Iqbal Town, and many others in Kareem Block, Iqbal Town, because they were using the land wrong. LDA conducts anti-encroachment sweep across Lahore

In a similar move, Pakistan Railways (PR) took action against illegal buildings and businesses in the Mughalpura area and reclaimed 15 kanals of land worth PKR 150 million.
