The government will decide the final route of RRR based on what consultant firms say. According to reports, the government has scrapped the old route and come up with a new 38-kilometer route from Rawat to Motorway. A senior official (whose name was not given) talked about the Rawal Expressway and Flood Channel Project and said that the government has decided not to buy land near Leh Nullah. He said that the government had ordered the building of a two-way road and a nullah that was made of cement. He also said that the road on both sides and the sewer line are the main points of interest. Also, in the next fiscal year, the 22-kilometer signal-free corridor from Kutchery Chowk to Motorway Chowk will be added. A flyover and underpasses will be built as part of this project. A government worker, whose name was not given, said that the project’s PC-1 had been sent to the Punjab Planning and Development Board. He also said that there are talks about putting a bus that looks like a metro along the route. Deputy Commissioner Tahir Farooq said that underpasses will be built in front of GHQ Chowk, Military Chowl, Pearl Continental Hotel Chowk, and GPO Chowk. In front of the Race Course Ground, the flyover will be built.
