CAA Chief Operations Officer (COO) Malik Mazhar Hussain made the said announcement. During a meeting with people from the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI), he told them about this plan. After recent floods destroyed major roads in Balochistan, representatives from the QCCI said they were having trouble getting around for business.

In response to their worries, COO Hussain told them that direct flights from Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and Europe will land on the new runway. In order to do this, the authority asked QCCI for help to improve air travel for the business community. Mr. Hussain told the traders that helping industry and business officials was one of the government’s top priorities because they are the heart of the country’s economy.
