Up to 112,000 homes and owners of commercial property have reportedly received red letters requiring them to pay property tax by the deadline. To make the process more appealing, the ETNC has also provided the following tax advantages: The owners of opulent homes and properties will receive a 10% discount if they pay their taxes on time. A 10% discount will be given when paying the tax amount using the Easypaisa App. Taxpayers will receive a 5% discount if they file their returns through certain ETNC offices or banking channels. Taxpayers who don’t pay the suggested amount by the deadline risk fines, property confiscation, and other legal repercussions. It was also emphasized that the ETNC has already written to taxpayers and will contact them shortly to let them know the deadline is drawing near. The administration has already established a monitoring unit to offer support via WhatsApp in an effort to further streamline the procedure. Additionally, the Rawalpindi ETNC amended the designation of all schools, salons, and shops that are located in residential structures from “residential” to “commercial.”
