Several were charged with mining in Margalla Hills

RAWALPINDI: The Taxila police have arrested a number of individuals suspected of illegally mining in the Margalla Hills through the use of explosives.

Among the accused are the proprietor of Faisal Hills, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, the president of B17, Rao Aslam, and Secretary Nadeem Sarwar.

According to ASI Mohmand Khan, a report indicated that the management of B17 and Faisal Hills orchestrated unauthorized explosive detonations during the night.

A police team reached the area between Faisal Hills and B17 in response to this tip. According to the evidence, the mountain explosion caused a substantial quantity of fallen rocks.

He stated that the illegal extraction of minerals had been ongoing for an extended period, in violation of Supreme Court directives.

Further investigation revealed that the President of B17, Rao Aslam, the Secretary of B17, Nadeem Sarwar, the owner of Faisal Hills, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, and Khan Salim, along with four others, were allegedly responsible for using heavy machinery and explosives to illegally extract minerals from the Margalla Hills.
