Asma Ghafoor (IT Director at SBCA), while talking to a private news channel, stated that the authority has a proper e-portal system connected to all the land owing agencies of Karachi. She further added that when the building plan of any plot comes to the Single Window Facility for authorization, the SBCA requires verification of its layout plan by the Master Plan Department of the relevant land-owning agency in addition to the name of the person it has been allotted to.

To guarantee transactions transparency, the SBCA has also advised buyers to request a ‘forwarding letter’ – which is a document issued by the cooperative housing society which attests that the plot in question belongs to the person selling it. Moreover, the buyer should pay a visit to the Master Plan Group Office in order to verify the society’s layout plan, with the final step being to get an SBCA construction approval.
