Governor of Punjab Balighur Rehman has announced that work will shortly begin on the Bahawalpur Ring Road Phase-II, which will connect Bindra Pulli on Multan Road to Bahawalpur Railway Station, according to July 4 news reports. The estimated cost of Phase II of the Bahawalpur Ring Road is ten billion Pakistani rupees.

During a meeting with a delegation led by former parliamentarian Syed Tabish Alwari, Governor Rehman assured them that the government would utilize all available resources for the city’s development.
The delegation included President of the Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali Maan, Secretary-General of the Bahawalpur Gymkhana Ijaz Nazim, and other members. In addition, the governor informed the delegation that the central annual grant for Sadiq Public School (SPS) in Bahawalpur was increased from PKR 20 million to PKR 60 million.
In addition, Governor Rehman promised to establish an IT centre in the new Bahawalpur industrial estate. He also stated his intention to implement the teaching of the Holy Quran in private institutions throughout the province of Punjab.
