According to the details, the ICCI President convened a meeting with the presidents of various markets to discuss the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) ongoing construction activities in these markets. It was revealed that the work will commence in phases. Several markets, including G-9, Abpara Market, G-11, F-10, F-11, F-6, and Melody Market, were chosen for construction and renovation work in the initial phase.
In addition, five focal persons were designated as points of contact for coordination between the CDA and concerned market representatives for construction and rehabilitation works in Islamabad’s markets. President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, Founder Group Chairman Khalid Iqbal Malik, Former President Ijaz Abbasi, Anjuman Tajran President Ajmal Baloch, and Khalid Chaudhry are among these key individuals.
Bakhtawari, on behalf of Islamabad’s complete business community, expressed gratitude to CDA Chairman Captain Noorul Amin Mengal. He acknowledged that the CDA Chairman had addressed the long-standing issue regarding construction activity in the markets. Bakhtawari also emphasised the need for a phased implementation and implored market presidents and officials to assist the Chamber and CDA in resolving this issue through cooperation.
The Islamabad markets have been neglected for a considerable amount of time, resulting in issues such as inadequate irrigation, inadequate road infrastructure, and sanitation issues. Bakhtawari expressed optimism that these obstacles would be resolved in the immediate future thanks to the CDA’s initiative.
Chairman of Founder Group Malik urged the business community to provide complete support in addressing market-related issues and contributing to the city’s overall development.
