LDA extends tender opening date of Babu Sabu Interchange project

News from January 24 says that the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has extended the deadline for bids on the Babu Sabu Interchange project.

According to the facts, the Babu Sabu Interchange project was started when Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was Chief Minister (CM). A person from the LDA Engineering Wing, whose name was not given, said that the project’s tender opening date was January 13, but that it was later moved to January 20. Now, the opening date has been pushed back again, to January 30.

For the Babu Sabu Interchange project, the authority also sent letters of invitation to a lot of construction companies. The news source said that work will begin on Band Road from the Babu Sabu Interchange to the Ring Road. At the Gulshan-e-Ravi T Junction on Band Road, it was said that a tunnel will be built. The Band Road will be fixed up, and bus tops will also be built.

The project is expected to cost PKR 4 billion, and fixing up Band Road will cost more than PKR 3 billion. The project will take 10 months to finish. Details show that the project will buy 10 kanals and 5 marlas of land.
