According to the facts, the National Highway Authority (NHA) has given the Sindh government the full amount of PKR 15 billion to buy land for the 306-kilometer-long Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway project. This is the last link missing from the PKR 307 billion Peshawar-Karachi Motorway project.

The general manager of the NHA said that the authority will buy the land after the final award has been made in the Naushahro Feroze and Matiari districts. After going through all of the basic stages of the Land Acquisition Award, it was said that the process of getting land had reached the advanced stage.

Also, the M-6 project covers the most land in Khairpur, which is 76 kilometres. Matiari has 70 kilometres, Naushahro Feroze has 64 kilometres, and Shaheed Benazirabad has 59 kilometres. The NHA is almost done with the process of getting bids for the project. In six months, the project will have reached its financial close.

The news source said that the federal government will pay PKR 9.5 billion up front to make sure the project is viable, and the contractor will pay PKR 4,087 billion over 25 years as the NHA’s share. The whole project will cost PKR 307,394 million.
