According to CDA authorities, the project will be completed for the first time in December 2021. However, there were significant setbacks. According to the latest information available, the project will almost be completed by April 2022. There is also another project known as the PWD Underpass, and both projects are being carried out by the same contractor.

The expressway is one of the busiest roadways in the city, carrying a high volume of traffic. A lot of people who commute to or from Lahore utilize this road because of the intense traffic. Additionally, travelers travelling to and from Punjab, KPK, and Azad Kashmir use this road. The extension of the Korang Bridge will aid in the division of traffic flow.
