GPO Islamabad welcomes Amazon facilitation centre. According to Pakistan Post Postmaster General Punjab Khawaja Imran Raza, because Amazon has opened its platforms to Pakistani vendors, it would assist promote businesses, and online shoppers will have access to Pakistani brands because they will be able to access all major markets through Amazon.

Raza informed a delegation from the Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) about Pakistan Post’s establishment of an Amazon Facilitation Centre to assist garments manufacturers and exporters in selling different items/commodities garments products worldwide on behalf of the government.

He explained that Pakistan Post is ready to take advantage of Amazon’s opportunity. The department is prepared to transport merchants’ shipments from their doorstep to Amazon facilitation centres around the world.

According to Raza, e-commerce has the most potential, especially in light of the Covid-19 outbreak, because online shopping and selling is rapidly increasing.

“Pakistan Post Office has been duly authorized as the delivery partner of global e-commerce giant,” stated PRGMEA North Zone Chairman Adeeb Iqbal Sheikh. “This is being hailed as a significant triumph for Pakistan’s e-commerce sector because Pakistani commodities would now be available to millions of shoppers worldwide,” he added.

According to the office-bearer, this decision will benefit the youth and small and medium businesses (SMEs) selling on the Amazon platform. He went on to say, “This will bring Pakistani sellers into the worldwide market.”

To increase online business in Pakistan, the Pakistan Post has created Amazon facilitation centres in several major cities, including Islamabad. This has been a huge success for Pakistan.

According to Pakistan, the centres were set up at ordinary post offices in Islamabad, Peshawar, Karachi, Gujrat, Multan, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Faisalabad Post, with all the necessary equipment for collecting and scanning the sellers’ merchandise for delivery to Amazon warehouses across the world.

Officials stated the plan would enhance exports and foster e-commerce in the country. They claimed that the Pakistan Post would carry merchants’ shipments to Amazon’s numerous facilities from their homes.

According to officials, the Pakistan Post Office has been formally authorized as the global e-commerce giant’s delivery partner. They said that the project will improve exports and encourage e-commerce in Pakistan and that Pakistani items would now be available to millions of people worldwide.
