PTA has launched a new automatic method to prevent snatched or stolen devices

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, commonly known as PTA, has launched a new automatic method that disables smartphones that have been “snatched, stolen, or misplaced.”

It is launched to prevent snatched or stolen devices by this new automatic method which will be very helpful in the welfare of humankind.

According to PTA, the user applies the Lost and Stolen Device System (LSDS), and the mobile’s IMEI (international mobile equipment identity) number is disabled within 24 hours of submission “after mandatory verification.”

“Upon successful registration of a blocking request, the complainant will obtain a complaint reference number,” the PTA tweeted. A blocking of IMEIs application must be submitted so that the data and mobile phone are not exploited.

If the phone is recovered, users should follow the same steps to unblock it: all mandatory details and the complaint reference number they submitted for restricting the mobile phone should be mentioned during the complaint registration process. PTA has launched this new automatic method for the well-being of people.
