LDA will launch the Band Road T-Junction initiative

On December 8, news sources said that the Punjab government had asked the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to start building the Band Road T-Junction project.

The provincial government has asked the LDA to give PKR 1 billion for the first phase of the Band Road development work. The Punjab government will give the remaining PKR 2.87 billion. According to the approved Project Concept-1 (PC-1), the project will take 10 mfinish and cost PKR 4.84 billion, of which PKR 3.87 billion will be used for civil construction and the rest for land acquisition and other work.

For the project, the LDA will also buy 10.5 kanals of land. The project was approved at the same time as the Samanabad Underpass project, which has already started and will be finished in 13 months.

The goal of the project is to make one of the city’s main highways, which is also used by heavy traffic, less crowded. The T-Junction will be built so that it can handle a lot of traffic and reduce traffic jams.
