CDA initiates an operation against illegal housing developments: Capital

Officials from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in Islamabad have initiated procedures against illegal and unauthorized housing societies in Zones 3 and 4 of the city.

According to the information provided, the operation’s initial phase involved sealing the offices of illegal housing plans. These societies are subject to enforcement under the Capital Development Authority Ordinance 1960, the ICT Zoning Regulation 1992, and the ICT Building Control Regulation 2020 due to their illicit property acquisition and sale.

Additionally, in accordance with CDA Ordinance MLR 63, MLR 82, Environmental Protection 2008, and Landscape Ordinance 5/4, the CDA administration will pursue legal action against the proprietors of illegal housing societies. CDA officials have routinely used newspaper advertising to warn the public to stay away from illicit housing developments, according to the post. The general public has also been advised to make sure the sponsors of the society have satisfied all standards and got a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the CDA before making any investments.
