Construction of GOR near DHA-LHR Phase-9, other projects approved

The Punjab Development Working Party (PDWP) has given the go-ahead for the construction of a new Government Officers Residence (GOR) near Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase-9 in Lahore and other development projects, according to a September 8 article in the leading newspaper.

Six development schemes for the road sector and public structures were approved at the 15th PDWP meeting, presided over by Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, Chairman of the Planning & Development (P&D) Board. These initiatives are estimated to cost a total of 5,612,725,000 PKR.

The construction of GOR near DHA Phase-9, with a budget of PKR 1,643,000,000, is one of the standout initiatives receiving approval. In addition, the meeting approved the construction of a multi-story building for Grades 11 through 14 for the Staff Colony at Chauburji Garden Estate on Multan Road at a cost of PKR 780 million.

In addition, the participants authorized the provision of essential facilities at the Board of Revenue, for which a budget of PKR 1,011,5011 million was allocated. The construction of a 1,08-kilometer-long viaduct on the Railway Phatak Chak RS Shujabad Motorway in District Multan has also been approved as a noteworthy project. This essential undertaking is estimated to cost 1.024 billion Pakistani rupees.
