LDA seeks for PKR 202 bn development budget for FY-23. News sources said on May 31 that the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has made a development budget of PKR 202 billion for the fiscal year (FY) 2022-23. The final draught of the budget has been sent to the Punjab government for final approval.

According to reports, the LDA gave the Punjab Secretary of Housing, Asad Rehman Gilani, a briefing on the budget in order to finish the city’s ongoing development projects. According to the LDA, the city is working on the following projects, which are listed in the budget document:

The project to build the Canal Tram will cost PKR 69 billion.
The Gulberg Elevated Expressway project will cost PKR 64 billion to build.
PKR 35 billion will be used to fix up Canal Road.
PKR 35 billion to build a road from the Expocenter to the Canal Road
PKR 29 billion will be used to fix up and rebuild roads in Lahore.
PKR 4.5 billion will be used to fix up Raiwind Road.

Three billion PKR will be spent on making the Lahore Canal Road wider.
The underpass on Bedian Road will cost PKR 3 billion to fix up and build.
The Khyaban-e-Jinnah, Qadir Topash Chowk Underpass will cost PKR 2.5 billion to build.
The project to build the Akbar Chowk Underpass will cost PKR 2.5 billion.
The Sports Complex and Ek Moria Pul project will cost PKR 2 billion to build.
