Another people-friendly endeavor is the CDA’s aim to develop Islamabad’s first pedestrian-friendly metropolis, complete with official maps and improved signposts and markings. The decision was made following a discussion between Chairman CDA Amir Ali Ahmad and famous urban designer Dr. Naveed Iftikhar. According to the conference’s outcome, the authority will expand pedestrian and walking zones around the city and land availability and utilization. It will include the introduction of paid parking, which is scheduled to begin in late March, and bus service.
