Based on the information that was disclosed, representatives of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) said that the project’s expenses increased beyond the PKR 6.5 billion approved budget at the outset, totaling PKR 8 billion. When the bypass was being built, more essential parts were added, which increased the cost.

According to a source, the project’s contractor, National Logistics Cell (NLC), requested PKR 1.8 billion in additional payment from the CDA for the extra work that was done at the civic agency’s request.

In response, the CDA sent the proposed bill to a consultant so that it could be verified by an outside party. The Punjab government’s consulting firm approved the additional work and suggested that PKR 1.5 billion be approved.
