Authorization of the Building of Six Mini-Dams

Rawalpindi: The Organisation for Small Dams in Punjab has authorized the topographical survey and building of 6 additional mini-dams in the Rawalpindi region.

The survey of these reservoirs allocated Rs15 million, anticipated to be concluded within the following two months. After completion, the building is expected to begin in May or June of 2024.

The proposed scheme entails the development of dams in the districts of Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Attock, and Jhelum. Approximately 5,000 to 20,000 acres of land will be irrigated by these structures, which will also supply the inhabitants of the Rawalpindi and Islamabad divisions with potable water.

Conversely, authorization has also been granted for the Kotli Sattian Dam to be built in the Tehsil Kotli Sattian, a wart of the newly formed Murree district. Beyond the towering mountain peaks of Murree, an innovative recreational area has been established in this region.

Furthermore, authorizations have been granted for the Khor Dam, Sora Dam, Attock, Ahmad Dal Dam, and Papin Dam, all of which are developments in the Chak Beli Khan region of Rawalpindi.
