Govt establishes a committee to address CDA land compensation issues. The Federal Cabinet established a committee to handle compensation concerns relating to the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) land acquisition.

The committee, chaired by a retired High Court Judge or equivalent authority, shall conduct an investigation and render a decision on the application’s subject matter within 90 days of its filing.

According to the meeting minutes, landowners whose property was acquired by CDA but not reimbursed must apply with the board’s secretary. The secretary would get reply from the appropriate authorities regarding the application.

A 90-day board decision will follow this. Additionally, the meeting determined that people whose reimbursement was delayed would be entitled to benefits under Section 5 of the CDA Ordinance 1960.

Additionally, the cabinet directed CDA to present a development plan for Sector E-12 at the next cabinet meeting, along with a timetable for development. The authority in the late 1980s purchased sector E-12, and allotment letters were issued for the same.

However, the sector has not yet flourished due to a lack of land ownership by landowners. However, the administration has stated that the growth of the sector as mentioned earlier, will be a priority.

Additionally, the cabinet directed CDA to produce a development plan for Sector E-12, along with a timeline for development, at the next cabinet meeting. In the late 1980s, the authority acquired sector E-12 and issued allotment letters for the same.
