LDA code block Construction SOPs to match LHR master plan

As reported on September 8, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has issued new standard operating procedures (SOPs) for building control in an effort to align the city with its master plan.

The corresponding notification has already been delivered. Under the new regulations, the Director of Town Planning will no longer be in charge of operations against unpermitted constructions in the city. Instead, the Assistant Director and Deputy Director will be responsible for preventing and addressing illicit construction in the city.

The building control SOPs outline the scope of the Assistant Director of Town Planning’s responsibilities. This official will be responsible for conducting daily road inspections and compiling inventories of legal and illegal properties.
