MDA approves a budget of PKR 4.36 billion for development initiatives

According to news reports, the Multan Development Authority (MDA) has approved a budget proposal of PKR 4.36 billion for the upcoming fiscal year 2023-24, which will be used for various government-funded development initiatives.

The MDA allocated funds for various expenses at a recent meeting convened by MDA Additional Director General Shakir Abbas Buzdar. The session approved a budget of 2.29 billion PKR for non-development expenses, 926.822 million PKR for MDA development schemes, and 1.14 billion PKR for government-funded schemes.

Representatives from various departments, including the finance department, the commissioner of Multan, officials from the Housing, Urban Development & Public Health Engineering (HUD&PHE) department in Lahore, and MDA officials, were present at the meeting.

During the forthcoming meeting of the MDA’s governing body, the proposed budget for fiscal year 2023-24 will be finalised and approved. This suggests that additional discussions and conclusions regarding the allocation of funds and the implementation of development schemes in Multan are anticipated.
