Pak, China have signed 4 MOUs in Various Sectors

Islamabad: Pakistan and China have recently executed several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) about development, information and communication technologies, and flood rehabilitation.

This momentous occurrence transpired amid a summit between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and a delegation representing the Chinese International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), headed by Luo Zhaohui, in Islamabad.

The agreements encompass various topics, such as applying Juncao technology to combat soil degradation and desertification, integrating information and communication technologies, and restoring areas affected by flooding.

Furthermore, deliberations were conducted concerning the China-Pakistan Development Cooperation Strategy 2024–2028.

According to available information, Prime Minister Sharif conveyed appreciation to China, emphasizing their steadfast assistance, specifically throughout the catastrophic floods of 2022, which resulted in significant loss of life and substantial property damage totalling $30 billion.

Chinese and Pakistani officials, including Jiang Zaidong, the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, were in attendance at the signing ceremony.

As previously mentioned, the partnership emphasizes China’s ongoing support for Pakistan, as seen in its financial contributions and investments in various infrastructure projects under the Belt and Road initiative.
