ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Building Control Directorate has made more than $21 million in the last month.

The money came from things like getting approved building plans, completion certificates, commercial charges, and fines for not following rules, said a spokesman for the city on Thursday.

People who live in residential buildings got completion certificates from the Building Control Directorate for more than $600,000 in March, while two commercial building plans brought in more than $12 million.

After approving the building plans for 22 residential buildings, the city made about $700,000. The city also made about $6 million by giving No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) to five commercial buildings.

In the same way, the directorate made one million rupees by giving NOCs to 35 residential buildings.

As a result of steps taken by the authority to make sure money is spent wisely and strengthen the authority’s finances, revenue is rising. In addition, instructions have been given to make sure that the administration is financially stable, the spokesman said.
