The mayor authorizes a Rs 300 million redevelopment project. Mayor retired Col Mubashir Javed authorized a Rs 300 million development program for road repairs, manhole lid installation, and streetlight installation throughout the metropolitan city’s nine zones.

Following its restoration by the Supreme Court, the LG representatives allocated Rs 30 million cash for each zone of the city to rehabilitate at least one important route connecting marketplaces, schools, and universities.

The mayor stated that the government directed councillors to spend no more than 8% of the budget on development during this time period.

According to him, under the Local Government Act of 2013, 8 percent utilization of money is only mandatory if a local administration’s term expires and a new government takes over.

He stated that because the new LG had not been constituted and elections had not been place, the LMC would defy the Punjab government’s directive over the utilization of the 8 percent budget.
