Wall construction begins to shield FDA City from industrial pollution

According to May 8 news reports, the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has begun construction of a boundary wall around FDA City to safeguard its residents from industrial wastewater and sewage from nearby industrial units.

Ombudsman (Mohtasib) Punjab has ordered the construction of the wall to shield residents of FDA City from direct exposure to industrial refuse and environmental pollution. This boundary wall’s construction is estimated to cost seven million Pakistani rupees.

According to the sources, the director general of the FDA has also ordered the environment protection department and the municipal corporation to take action against the illegal disposal of industrial refuse in Samana village and the dumping of sewage into the watercourse.
