CDA has Decided to Automate the Property Records

Islamabad: The current administration of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has determined to advance with the computerization of residential and commercial assets records in the nation’s capital.

Since almost nine years ago, the municipal administration in Islamabad has been deliberating on automating property records to prevent illegitimate and fraudulent cases.

Small investors who have fallen victim to fraudulent cases have not been provided with a remedy despite the CDA office issuing transfer letters for the past six years.

No concrete or remedial action was taken against the accountable officials without implementing corrective measures for the allottees.

The entire incident cast doubt on the credibility of the CDA, which deterred investors from investing in Islamabad.

The contract for the automation of property records would reportedly be awarded to a government corporation on a government-to-government base, per the specifics.

The firm would digitize an estimated 45 million documents over two years.

The organization would also be tasked with maintaining and operating the property record automation system, among other responsibilities.
