Plantation to become a requirement for all new uplift projects

Plantation to become a requirement for all new uplift projects

Plantation to become a requirement for all new uplift projects. New uplift initiatives will be required to plant trees. Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has asked the competent authorities to take the required procedures to make plantation a mandatory component of all new provincial government projects’ PC-Is. All development initiatives, he argued, should include plantations on a modest scale.

The chief minister issued the decision while chairing a meeting about the monsoon plantation campaign here on Friday. It went over the first two weeks of the plantation campaign’s progress.

The meeting was attended by Acting Chief Secretary Zafar Ali Shah, CM’s Principal Secretary Amjad Ali Khan, administrative secretaries of concerned departments, divisional commissioners, and other high-ranking officials. The CM chairs the meeting on the monsoon campaign.

The participants were informed that set the total objective for the monsoon plantation campaign at 58 million and that 774 different plantation operations were carried out across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the first two weeks beginning August 1.

Officials stated that 1.1 million saplings were planted by involving elected officials and the general public. As a result, an aggregate total of eight million saplings was produced across the province during the first two weeks of the program.

“Similarly, 112 million plant enclosures have been planned, and 56 million plant enclosures have been ensured in the two weeks leading up to the drive,” it was reported. In addition, according to officials, supplied 1.5 million saplings to individuals for private plantations.

The chief minister directed the to-the-point authorities to ensure that they met the campaign’s aim of 100 percent. He advocated for planting along riverbanks, highways, and near irrigation channels, among other locations selected for this purpose.

Mahmood Khan emphasized the importance of focusing on an urban plantation and urged the competent authorities to carry out extensive farms at divisional, district, and tehsil headquarters levels. He also requested that the local government administration assign responsibility for protecting saplings planted in their domains to all TMAs. Finally, he reaffirmed his government’s commitment to making the province’s 10 Billion Tree Tsunami plan successful.

Gwadar Suicide Attack : China demands Pakistani Justice

China demands justice from Pakistan on Gwadar suicide attack. China insisted on Saturday that Islamabad conduct a comprehensive investigation into the suicide attack on a van transporting Chinese nationals in Gwadar, Baluchistan, and severely punish the culprits.

According to a statement from the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, the Pakistani government has been asked to take practical actions to guarantee that such tragedies do not occur again.

“At the exact time, relevant departments at all levels in Pakistan must take practical and effective measures to speed up the implementation of strengthened whole-process security measures and upgraded security cooperation mechanisms to ensure that similar incidents do not occur again,” the statement read.

According to the statement, a convoy carrying Chinese nationals was attacked in Gwadar, killing three children and injuring several others, including a Chinese person.

According to an Interior Ministry statement, a four-vehicle convoy transporting Chinese nationals “with integrated security details of Pakistan army and police presence” was attacked on the East Bay Expressway. The attack took place near a fishermen’s community along the beachfront route, according to the statement.

The Chinese team noted Pakistani authorities’ fast response, saying that the Pakistani side quickly sent the wounded to a hospital in Gwadar for treatment after the event.

“The Chinese Embassy in Pakistan strongly condemns this act of terrorism, expresses its heartfelt condolences to the innocent victims in Pakistan, and extends its sincere sympathies to the injured of both countries,” it stated. Following the attack on the convoy, the embassy said it quickly implemented an emergency plan. The embassy requested that Pakistan treat the injured properly, conduct a comprehensive investigation, and punish the offenders severely.

On Saturday, police claimed they had filed a case at a CTD police station connected with the suicide attack against unnamed terrorists. The charges include murder, attempted murder, explosives, and terror clauses, according to them. The bombing killed three children and injured three more.

Overhaul funding for Pindi tehsils at Rs192 million: Chief Justice of the IHC

Chief Justice of the IHC: Overhaul funding for Pindi tehsils at Rs192 million

Seven tehsils in Pindi will receive Rs192 million in uplift funding. Justice Athar Minallah, the Chief Justice of the IHC, suspended the assignment of plots to the capital’s judiciary in sectors F-14 and F-15 on Friday, claiming that the award of land was an apparent conflict of interest.

The court also sent a notice to the attorney general, requesting an explanation from the Ministry of Housing and Works about the policy of allocating plots to a select group of people. The case will be heard on September 13 by a larger bench.

It should note that the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) allotted plots to Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed and other judges of the superior judiciary, as well as bureaucrats such as Dr. Shahzad Arbab and Dr. Waqar Masood Khan, after retiring from government service were hired as special assistants to the prime minister, during the balloting.

Property owners in Thalla Syedan and Jhangi Syedan in Islamabad district filed a suit against land acquisition. IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard the case.

”Federal Government Employees Housing Authority recently held a poll for assignment of plots in F-14 and F-15,” Justice Minallah said during the case’s hearing. Almost every judicial officer of the district courts of Islamabad, who is meant to resolve and rule on the claims and rights of the affected land owners, is a benefactor, accordilandownersist.”

“It raises serious questions about conflict of interest because the plots are given to the beneficiaries at substantially lower prices than current market rates, and thus each beneficiary has a financial interest,” he said, adding that “amazingly, the list also includes those judicial officers who have been dismissed based on misconduct or corruption.”

Justice Minallah pointed out that one of the beneficiaries was a judicial officer who was convicted and sentenced by this court and whose conviction was later supported by the august Supreme Court in the case of a kid named Tayyaba. Similarly, the IHC chief justice noted that “the judicial official who was discharged on corruption accusations in the fraudulent degree [Axact] case is also an allottee.”

According to the FGEHA’s records, three sacked additional district and sessions judges — Pervaizul Qadir Memon, Raja Khurram Ali Khan, and Jahangir Awan — were each awarded a kanal plot in F-14 and F-15, while two former civil judges, Adnan Jamali and Amir Khalil, were each given 14 marla plots.

Mr Memon was fired from his job in February 2018 after accepting a bribe to acquit MS Axact Shoaib Sheikh, the company’s CEO. In the Tayyaba torture case, Raja Khurram Ali Khan was convicted and discharged from the army. At the same time, Jahangir Awan was fired last year for firing in the air during a brawl on Constitution Avenue. The IHC management also fired civil judges Jamali and Khalil.

According to the court’s ruling, the names of judicial personnel under investigation for apparent incompetence are also among the beneficiaries. How could the government reward a public servant who had been fired for corruption or misbehavior, Justice Minallah wondered.

While the judges of the IHC turned down the FGEHA’s offer of plots, the judges of the lower courts made applications, and the authority assigned plots to each judge during balloting on August 17, 2021. The FGEHA, interestingly, allocated plots to IHC officials whose appointments had been declared unlawful by the Supreme Court.

The IHC and the district courts in Islamabad were flooded with lawsuits against the FGEHA, according to Justice Minallah. Almost every judicial officer in the district judiciary has a considerable financial interest in the authority. Citing a Supreme Court decision in the matter of Anwar and others v. The Crown [PLD 1955 FC 185] said that “no judge can be a judge in his suit.”

Justice Minallah cited another case, ‘Federation of Pakistan v. Muhammad Akram Shaikh, etc.,’ in which the Supreme Court stated that “when a judge’s pecuniary or financial interest, no matter how small, is likely to be affected as a direct result of the decision, in any case, he is ipso facto, disqualified from hearing it…”

“It is evident that judicial officers’ pecuniary interests are created when he or she, as the case may be, becomes a beneficiary of the extraordinary benefit of receiving state land at prices much lower than market rates,” the IHC chief judge stated. The impression of a dispute of interest is enough to undermine plaintiffs’ faith in the legal system.”

“It commenced registration under membership drive Phase-II on ‘age-wise seniority basis’ for federal government employees and other designated groups in April 2015 as per authorized quota policy and eligibility requirements of the scheme,” the FGEHA said in response to a news item published earlier.

Until May 2016, nearly 80,000 members were registered, including government employees from BS-1 to BS-22 and superior and lower court judges, according to the FGEHA. In addition, allottees whose names were included in the balloting of plots for sectors F-14/15 were issued consent letters in 2016, even though the balloting was only to assign them plot numbers.

The housing authority also stated that 1,704 F-14/15 category-1 (BS-20 to BS-22) allottees, including judges, were allotted plots through random computerized balloting on 17-08-2021 in a transparent manner. At the same time, 1,690 category-2 (BS-18 to BS-19) allottees and 1,329 allottees in category-3 (BS-16 to BS-17) were also allotted plots.

The housing authority stated that all allotments were made following the FGEHA’s approved criteria/policy. Further, that balloting for allocating plot numbers to bona fide allottees was performed utilizing a transparent computerized balloting system.

Judges plot allocation in new capital sectors suspended by IHC. Justice Athar Minallah, the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), stopped the assignment of properties to the capital’s judiciary in sectors F-14 and F-15 on Friday, claiming that the land award was an apparent conflict of interest.

The court also delivers a notice to the attorney general, requesting an explanation from the Ministry of Housing and Works about the policy of allocating plots to a select group of people. The case will be heard on September 13 by a larger bench.

Among the senior civil judges are Abdul Ghafoor, Aamir Aziz Khan, Nasruminallah, Mohammad Sohail, Mohammad Inamullah, Humayun Dilawar, Rasool Baksh Mirjat, Riwanuddin, Aamir Aziz Khan, M. Abbas, Raja Farrukh Ali Khan, Suhaib Bilal, Aamir Khalil, Abdul Ghafoor, and Mohammad Shabbir. Under the FGEHA’s category II, they were each allotted a 14-marla plot. According to the court’s directives, it would likewise halt the allocation of plots to IHC officials.

The FGEHA, interestingly, allocated plots to IHC officials whose appointments had been declared unlawful by the Supreme Court. Shahzada Islam, Qazi Shakeel, Shahzada Islam, and Umer Draz Shakir are among the extra registrars.

According to Justice Minallah, the IHC and district courts in Islamabad were swamped with lawsuits against the FGEHA. In the cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Zedem Pvt ltd. has completed several noteworthy housing developments. In Islamabad, it is a prestigious and excellent real estate constructor and construction company. Faisal Margalla City is the most recent development of Pvt. Ltd. The neighborhood radiates a sense of tranquility and security, surrounded by unique, beautiful surroundings at the foothills of the Margalla hills.

Zedem Pvt Ltd.

Zedem Pvt Ltd. is an Islamabad-based real estate developer & construction firm. It has completed some of the most notable housing projects in the proximity of Islamabad & Rawalpindi, such as the Multi-Professional Cooperative Housing Society (MPCHS) in Islamabad’s CDA sectors B-17, F-11, and E-1.

Location Map

Faisal Margalla City spreads all the way to the Margalla Hills, up across from Block A with MPCHS Multi-Gardens B-17. It is encircled on all sides by other MPCHS blocks. It will have direct connections to the GT Road thru the Multi-Gardens on the one side and to the Motorway M-1 from MPCHS Block G thru the presented intersection onto the motorway: Multi-Faisal Interchange on the other. This placement is ideal because it is close to Multi-Gardens B-17, which implies that all of the advancement, population, and commercial activity that occurs there will directly benefit real estate and individuals in Faisal Margalla City.

Faisal Margalla city location map

The project incorporates all expected features, including a vast highway network that connects the housing community to the remaining portion of the region. Faisal Margalla’s brilliant placement is attracting a lot of interest and money. The sector is not as densely urbanized as other CDA areas in Islamabad. However, it has all of the amenities necessary for a comfortable and peaceful life.

Landmark and Areas

Over the weekend and other holidays, Faisal Margalla City Islamabad inhabitants will not be short of fascinating places to visit. It’s because Taxila Museum, which is about 9 kilometers away, provides a powerful platform for history buffs to get a glimpse into the history. The museum, which is located on Shahpur Road, residences a long heritage of Gandhara civilization. You will be encircled by Buddhist relics such as sculptures, coins, and artifacts, allowing you to venture through into pages of history. The artifacts on display here clearly reflect the Gandhara civilization’s religious beliefs and lifestyle.

To make the best of your vacation with family and friends, you can also arrange a journey to Fatimah Jinnah Park, which is approximately 29 kilometers from Faisal Margalla City Islamabad. It is the capital city’s largest park, with a serene ambiance and soft foliage that is well-maintained by the administration. It offers breath-taking vistas of the Margalla Hills. People who enjoy staying in shape come here to stroll, jog, and run on the designated sidewalks. A football field, bowling alley, sports complex, and children’s play area are available for other sports exercises. Fatimah Jinnah Park’s gorgeous pond is also a breath-taking element to the park’s attractiveness, making it an ideal location for photographing.

NOC Status

As per the many on-ground references contacted, all of the property for the venture has been obtained. As a matter of fact, it was already possessed by Zedem International’s Chaudhary Majeed. As a result, it is assumed that the community has all of the land required for the project, implying that possession will not be an issue. If the property has already been bought, the question of NOC gets a lot easier. Nevertheless, as per Farooq of Sibro Property B-17 Islamabad, some criteria for the NOC have still to be completed, and things are in the works so that the project will obtain them soon and without too much trouble.

Master Plan

There are 5.5, 8, 10.8, 14.2, & 20 Marla plots available in the community and residential and commercial plots. Initially, there were assumptions regarding if or when the installment payment plan was continuing to be provided. However, following the debut, Developers posted the initial plan on Zedem International’s website and were accessible to the entire public. The developers implemented this measure for the investors’ convenience. If some people couldn’t afford lump sum payments, they could at least pay the quarter, relatively reasonable installments, and own a home in the area. Unfortunately, the administration has changed its policy and notified us that they would not extend the 4-year payment installment plan for plots in the community.

Near the caves of Shah Allah Ditta will be getting a new trail

Near the caves of Shah Allah Ditta will be getting a new trail

Shah Allah Ditta will be getting a new trail. The Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) plans to build a new walking trail near the caves of Shah Allah Ditta to attract more local and international visitors to this historic monument.

According to reports, the IWMB chairperson paid a visit to the ancient site and requested that the relevant officials prepare a proposal to develop a walking track. The picturesque spot is part of the protected Margalla Hills National Park (MHNP), but there is no effective patrolling system to ensure its safety.

The IWMB will also set up a new mechanism to conduct patrols and keep an eye on those allegedly involved in snatching forest sections from the national park. The 44-kilometre Margalla Ridge route, which runs from Shah Allah Ditta to Summa in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, was worth noting that it was launched in November 2018.

Shah Allah Ditta, a centuries-old settlement at the foothills of the Margallah hills, is one of the primary tourist attractions due to 2,500-year-old Buddhist caves built near the shrine of Hazrat Shah Allah Ditta a Mughal-era saint.

There is a cave custodian whose grandfather was given this task by a Hindu family after the subcontinent’s participation. For locals, these caverns have religious importance because worshippers frequently visit this location throughout the year. In the heart of the Margalla highlands, the IWMB, part of the climate change ministry, has been creating walking paths and tracks for visitors and trekkers.

According to a representative for the Ministry of Climate Change, a plan is to build additional walking routes in the Margalla highlands, with the IWMB having recently opened several of them.

“I told the standing committee that the district government owes the landowners a total of Rs3.7 billion, but we have only paid Rs2.03 billion so far,” deputy commissioner Qasim Ali Khan told reporters on Tuesday.

The E-Government Development Index ranks Pakistan153rd

The E-Government Development Index ranks Pakistan153rd

The E-Government Development Index ranks Pakistan 153rd out of 193 nations in the UN E-Government Development Index (EGDI) report for 2020, down from 148th in the previous information.

Previously, the UN EGDI just tracked e-government development, but it now includes parts of digital government development by ranking member states on three different indicators: Online Services Index (OSI), Human Capital Index (HCI), and Telecommunication Infrastructure Index (TII) (TII).

These necessitate a more in-depth analysis of the country’s digital transformation path and efforts to determine the causes behind the country’s low ranking and projected deterioration in 2020. In addition, potential options for improving Pakistan’s EGDI rating and, as a result, people’ interactions with the government through the use of technology should also be investigated.

Fragmented and siloed approach, lack of enabling telecommunication infrastructure and low affordability, digital skills gap, cyber security, data privacy and lack of trust, service design maturity, and limited citizen participation are among the factors afflicting Pakistan’s digital government development.

The paper also offers recommendations on how Pakistan might benefit from the experiences of other countries to speed its digital government transformation.

It entails developing a national digital government strategy, developing an action plan for implementing the road map, putting in place essential building blocks such as digital identity, payment, and a data exchange platform, and establishing a data and advanced analytics centre of excellence. In addition, develop a shared governance framework, including a portfolio, program, and project assurance framework, digital information management, IT spend control, procurement, data and technology standards, shared and shared systems, platforms, applications, and digital infrastructure, and centralized cross-government IT support.

It also suggests that current telecom policies and plans be reviewed, that public-private partnerships be developed, that a flexible regulatory regime is offered to investors and businesses in telecom services, that innovative practices be encouraged, that data-driven policy and decision-making be pursued, and that public access facilities be provided to address the accessibility-related digital divide, and that lifelong digital learning education be developed.

It also recommends establishing a digital service standard to ensure consistency and quality across services, transforming organizational structure and mindset, developing a forward-looking national citizen participation and engagement strategy and plan, developing and launching effective, user-friendly online participatory platforms and digital tools, incentivizing citizens to increase their involvement, and developing and establishing effective, user-friendly online participatory platforms and digital devices
