LDA and DHA will build an underpass at Ring Road

On July 6, news sources said that the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) will work together to build an underpass on Lahore Ring Road. The underpass project will be built at the Nawaz Sharif Interchange. It is expected to cost about PKR 2 billion.

Reports say that this will be the first underpass in Lahore that will be built by a group of people who each pay the same amount. The LDA will give PKR 1 billion, and the DHA will provide the rest of the money to the LDA in three equal payments. Also, the LDA has finished 3D modelling and hired National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) to provide consulting services.

Also, the plan is for the underpass to look like the Laal Shehbaz Qalander underpass in Gulberg, which has two-lane roads on each side. For the underpass to be built, no land will be bought.

The LDA has recently started several infrastructure development projects, such as underpasses, overhead bridges, and flyovers, to deal with the growing traffic congestion problems. As part of Lahore’s plan for growth, the government set aside a large amount of money for this purpose.
