Sakhawat Ali, IWMB’s Assistant Director, briefed participants on the ecological significance and natural heritage of Margalla Hills National Park (MHNP). MHNP was founded in 1980. He added that it is the world’s third largest national park, covering an area of 17,386 hectares (42,960 acres) and located in the Himalayan foothills. Tilla Charouni is the park’s highest peak, standing at 1,604 metres. The park is a veritable treasure trove of Sino-Himalayan species, most notably grey goral, barking deer, and leopard. Around 600 plant species, 402 bird species, 38 animal species, and 27 reptile species call MHNP home. Hiking with environmentalists as part of the Clean-up Movement.

He noted that under the new management, the IWMB has lately taken efforts to protect the park and its tourists. The IWMB renovated the Nature Education Center, which serves as the focal point for events and public education sessions. Sirbaz Khan, Pakistan’s young emerging star of extreme climbing, and Zeshan Naqvi, former deputy mayor of the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), were also in attendance. Mr.Nazir Sabir presided over the certificate distribution ceremony as the chief guest. Environmentalists on a hike as part of the Clean-up Movement.

Mr. Sabir discussed how mountaineering had become increasingly technical and difficult as a result of climate change. Additionally, he suggested that Mr. Prime Minister Imran Khan should organise a task team comprised of eight to ten prominent mountaineers. Mr. Khan revealed that, sadly, climbing was not a government priority, despite the fact that mountains were threatened by the housing and forestry gangs. The authorities should develop a strategy for resolving this conundrum. Environmentalists on a hike as part of the Clean-up Movement.

‘Despite the difficulties, Nasla Tower is being demolished,’ SC stated. According to reports, the city administration informed the Supreme Court of Pakistan that despite certain ‘unavoidable challenges’ on a daily basis, most notably public protests and threats against the contractor, demolition work on the illegally constructed Nasla Tower was proceeding without interruption due to the destruction of side walls on all floors.

According to informed sources, Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Memon presented a thorough report to the apex court on Friday detailing the status and obstacles of the demolition process, which was continuing in ‘full swing’ round-the-clock despite the ‘worst case scenario’.

The report stated that the sidewalls of all floors had been demolished and de-rooting of all floors had been completed from the center, providing some place for laborers to stroll.

Additionally, read: The Supreme Court ordered the immediate destruction of Karachi’s Nasla Tower.

It stated that both lifts had been decommissioned and that the final step, namely the installation of structural columns, had been initiated top-down.

The apex court was informed that more than 400 laborers, seven excavators, 25 demolition hammer machines, and a heavy machinery excavator equipped with a jackhammer were employed in the demolition of Nasla Tower, which was constructed over 1,121 square yards on Plot No193-A in the Sindhi Muslim Cooperative Housing Society at Sharea Faisal.

On Nov 28, the Supreme Court ordered the commissioner to quadruple the number of laborers from 200 to 400 within a week to dismantle the tower.

The commissioner mentioned in his report that certain precautions were also taken to ensure the public’s and property’s safety.

The safety measures included the installation of safety netting around the building’s four sides, the erection of barriers, the establishment of a traffic police picket to direct traffic to the alternate route, and the deployment of police and Rangers.

The Hyderabad-Sukkur highway will be built soon: Minister

The Hyderabad-Sukkur highway will be built soon: Minister

The Hyderabad-Sukkur highway will be built soon: minister. Federal Minister of Communication and Postal Services Murad Saeed announced on Saturday that bids for the Hyderabad-Sukkur stretch of the motorway have been received and Prime Minister Imran Khan would shortly perform the project’s groundbreaking ceremony.

While addressing a press conference here at the Sindh Assembly building with opposition leader Haleem Adil Sheikh and other PTI elected MPs, Murad Saeed stated that the PTI administration would launch Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway as its first project.

“It will be a gift to the Sindhi people,” he explained. The federal minister stated that the Centre was constructing a lot of highways and roads in Sindh to improve the province’s communication and transportation infrastructure. He declared that the Green Line of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system will be opened in December, providing the people of Karachi with the improved commuting facilities they had been clamouring for.

The minister continued by stating that another significant project, the 786-kilometer-long Karachi-Quetta-Chaman motorway, had reached an advanced stage and building will begin soon. The federal minister noted that the Centre was also contributing to the building of the Karachi Circular Railway, as well as the completion of various highways and streets in the city via federal funds.

Another road project in the Umerkot district has been completed and will be launched on Sunday, the minister announced. Murad Saeed stated that the people of Sindh were suffering as a result of the PPP’s provincial government’s poor governance and corruption, while democratic standards were being eroded by self-proclaimed “champions of democracy.”

He alleged that the party that taught democratic ideas in the National Parliament and Senate was undermining democratic principles in Sindh by preventing the opposition from participating in the provincial assembly.

“It is deplorable that opposition parties in Sindh are denied membership in the Public Accounts Committee and standing committees, he observed, whereas Shahbaz Sharif was appointed chairman of the PAC despite being accused of corruption.

While denouncing the barbaric deaths of Fahmida Sial, Nazim Jokhio, and Sakhawat Rajput, the minister stated that Sindh’s law and order situation was out of control due to the murders of powerful individuals. Um-e-Rabab was yet another victim of injustice in Sindh, since her father and other family members were slain while she pursued justice.

Saeed further accused the PPP of delaying federally sponsored projects in Sindh, claiming that the provincial administration objected to education and health initiatives supported by the MNA budget, citing the 18th Amendment and provincial autonomy.

“However, the same Sindh administration attempted to strip local government institutions of their constitutional rights and obligations,” he explained. The minister noted that Sindh had breached Article 140-A of the Constitution, which called for the financial, administrative, and political empowerment of LG bodies.

He stated that Prime Minister Imran Khan intended to implement electronic voting (EVM) to ensure transparent and fair elections, whilst the PPP desired secret balloting in the LG system to permit rigging and the appointment of unelected officials.

According to the minister, Sindh’s health, education, law and order, and other sectors have been decimated, with hospitals lacking physicians, medications, and ambulances, and schools lacking teachers and furniture. “The PTI has implemented historic reforms in Khyber=police, Pakhtunkhwa’s education, environment, and health sectors, repositioning the province on the path of progress and prosperity. He continued by stating that every resident in K-P had access to improved health services via health cards, and that the same facility was also available to the masses in Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Sindh’s Tharparkar area.

Murad Saeed stated that wheat flour and sugar were more expensive in Sindh as a result of the PPP Sindh government’s erroneous policies and unethical actions. In response to a question about the Indus Highway’s improvement, the communication minister stated that while no progress had been made on the project until 2018, PTI began work on the project after assuming power, and motorway police were also deployed on the highway.

“The project will be completed shortly,” he added. In response to a question concerning the Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway M9, Murad Saeed stated that the communication ministry was in contact with the Sindh government to rehabilitate the road.

The Hyderabad-Sukkur motorway will be constructed as quickly as possible.

The design of the Leh Expressway has been revised once more

The design of the Leh Expressway has been revised once more. With another design revision to the Leh Expressway project, the administration has chosen to deepen Nullah Leh rather than broaden it.

The Nullah Leh’s depth will be expanded by 11 feet, requiring only a minimal land acquisition for the project.

Previously, the government intended to purchase 1,200 Kanals of land for the Leh Expressway project; however, 605 Kanals would now be acquired, alleviating people’ concerns. Nullah Leh will be 16 kilometers long and 30 meters wide following the renovations. The project would cost Rs90 billion and will take 18 months to complete. The land acquisition survey is nearly complete.

The restoration of Sajan Singh Haveli is under jeopardy

The restoration of Sajan Singh Haveli is under jeopardy

The restoration of Sajan Singh Haveli is in limbo. The 130-year-old Sajan Singh Haveli — which comprises seven gurdwaras and a temple in the city’s most densely populated Bhabhra Bazaar neighborhood — could not be restored because the provincial government failed to release funds approved for the project.

Prior to his arrest in the Ring Road scandal, former Commissioner Capt (retd) Muhammad Mahmood obtained approval from the Punjab government to restore the historical mansion for Rs400 million. The provincial government, on the other hand, did not release the funds.

Sardar Rai Bahadur Sujan Singh, a wealthy merchant, constructed the iconic structure 131 years ago. It began construction in 1890 and was completed three years later. The four-story, 24,000-square-foot structure features 45 rooms. Four of the large halls are furnished in the Victorian style.

The project also included the restoration of a temple and seven gurdwaras.

The plan called for painting the streets of the inner Bhabra Bazaar and the balconies of all ancient structures.

The plan for the establishment of a library on the ground floor and a cafe on the top floor where tourists could sit and learn about the mansion’s history.

The plan called for the restoration of electricity poles, telephones, and other wires in the streets surrounding the Haveli, as well as the establishment of a museum on the second floor of the mansion. Antiquities from the British and Sikh eras would be housed in the museum.

According to sources, despite the project’s approval, the provincial government has yet to release funds.

The Sajan Singh Haveli was home to a Sikh family who immigrated to India following partition. The family also owned a royal palace on Mall Road, which is now the location of Fatima Jinnah Women’s University.

Prior to this, a plan to establish a campus of the Fatima Jinnah University at the Sajan Singh Haveli was considered but never implemented.

The mansion is a work of art in the style of British architecture and a sight to behold.

The purpose of opening this mansion to tourists was not only to preserve and introduce cultural heritage to future generations, but also to promote Pothohar culture.

Several attempts were made to ascertain Rawalpindi Commissioner Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah’s version of the Sajan Singh Haveli’s delay in renovation, but he did not respond.
